Have you ever felt convinced of something in your mind but your body had a block around doing it? This mind/body split is very common and Somatic Sex Education offers tools to help bring the mind and body in alignment.
Somatic Sex Education offers a combination of using somatic tools and psychological reframes to help people work through sexual blocks.
It utilizes the the body to help people drop into their sensations and increase somatic intelligence.
This practice is simple but not easy and requires slowing down to become more attuned, connected and embodied.
What could you achieve if your mind and body were focused, present and in alignment?
Traditional talk therapy gives clients an outside perspective while somatic-based work dives deeply into the wisdom within the body.
What is Somatic Sex Education?
It’s a space where people can explore their desires, boundaries, and vulnerabilities, all in service of living more fully erotic, joyful lives.
In my heart and soul, I believe that sexuality and touch are gateways to divine pleasure and connections with a greater existence. Sexuality isn’t just about physical experiences; it’s a portal to explore the depths of the self, forge profound connections with others, and discover the vastness of the world around us.
It’s a subtle attunement to every facet of the body and understanding the desires that emerge from the depths of our being.
“With a mindfulness practice we may become more nonjudgmental, develop equanimity, be more aware of what is going on as it is happening, and develop the capacity to label and describe with words our internal world.”
-Daniel Siegel
Somatic Sex Education Background Influences:
Sexological Bodywork
Founded by Joseph Kramer, is a very new practice that integrates one way erotic touch into a massage in order to include the entire body into the work. Traditional “donut massages” provide touch to everywhere except the genitals, and this work intentionally includes the entire body to provide a trance state of feeling wholness.
Created by Betty Martin, this approach to consent, boundaries and intimate pleasure is a foundational part of my work. It breaks down this work into two simple (but not easy) questions of “What are we doing” and “Who is it for”.
Taoism is a philosophy and religion that comes from ancient China to aim to live in harmony with the universe. Taoist massage seeks to achieve internal harmony by aligning the mind, body, and soul.
An ancient Indian philosophy with many limbs. Neotantra is a much newer Western movement that uses tantras ancient practices of spirituality and focuses specifically on sexual energy.
